Dec 11 (Reuters) - Andrew Hulsh has left his post as
co-leader of Mayer Brown's North American private equities
practice to join Dechert in New York. Hulsh will be a partner in
Dechert's corporate practice and will continue in the fields of
domestic and cross-border private equity and mergers and
acquisitions transactions.
Akerman Senterfitt has added a new shareholder to its
litigation practice group in New York. Darren Traub joins the
firm from Herrick Feinstein and will focus on intellectual
property, complex business, entertainment and related matters.
Real estate attorney Richard Kalikow of Diamond McCarthy has
joined Herrick Feinstein as partner in the firm's New York
office.
In Los Angeles, Gary Urwin has moved over from Hogan Lovells
to join Edwards Wildman's litigation department as partner.
DLA Piper has hired Patrick Connolly as partner in Los
Angeles, where he will join its tax practice and focus on
complex international tax matters and transactions. Previously
at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Connolly was a principal in the
international tax services group.
Frederic Adam has joined Foley & Lardner's tax and
individual planning practice as partner in its Silicon Valley
office. Adam was a partner in the international corporate tax
group of KPMG.
Matthew Gruenberg is leaving Gruenberg Garnett Harris for
Barnes & Thornburg as partner in Los Angeles, focusing on
domestic and international franchising, licensing and
distribution matters. Also joining the firm is Frank Scutch, who
comes over from Price Heneveld. He will be based in Barnes &
Thornburg's Michigan office handling national intellectual
property matters.
Lane Powell has added a shareholder in Seattle. Gregory
Wesner, previously with Lawrence & Haug and K&L Gates, will be
with the firm's intellectual property and technology practice
group.
Fredrik Henriksson, previously chief general counsel for the
EF Education First Group, has joined McGuireWoods in London as
partner in its mergers and acquisitions and cross-border
transactions department.
Also in London, McDermott Will & Emery has added two
partners from Maitlands. Corporate attorneys Stuart Mathews and
Rupert Weber will handle international transactional matters.
In Singapore, Jones Day has hired Michelle Chen as partner
in its banking and finance practice. She joins from Herbert
Smith, where she was also partner.
