Jan 15 (Reuters) - International law firm Dorsey & Whitney
has hired five attorneys from California bankruptcy law firm
Murray & Murray to anchor a West Coast bankruptcy and
restructuring practice.
John Murray, Stephen O'Neill, Robert Franklin, Craig Prim
and Thomas Hwang will be based in Palo Alto, Dorsey said in a
statement on Tuesday.
The group represents financially distressed companies in
formal Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, assignments for the
benefit of creditors and out-of-court settlements.
"The broader platform offered by Dorsey & Whitney will allow
us to expand our practice to a national level and capitalize on
East Coast opportunities, especially in Delaware and New York,"
the statement quoted Murray as saying.
The new team, together with the firm's existing bankruptcy
and restructuring lawyers, will give Dorsey "tremendous
capabilities," said Craig Ritchey, the head of Dorsey's Palo
Alto office.
