CAREER TRACKER: Lawyers on the move - Dec. 14, 2012

Dec 14 (Reuters) - The Securities and Exchange Commission has appointed Danforth Townley an attorney fellow in its Division of Investment Management. Townley comes from Davis Polk & Wardwell, where he was partner in the firm's corporate department, and will provide counsel on rule-making issues and other policy initiatives at the SEC from January.

Crowell & Moring has hired Christopher Cole as partner in Washington. Most recently the chair of Manatt, Phelps & Phillips' advertising litigation practice. Cole joins Crowell's advertising and product risk management group.

Jose Patino and Nicola Pisano have left Jones Day and moved to Foley & Larder as partners. Both will be in the firm's intellectual property litigation practice and be based in the San Diego/Del Mar office. Also moving to Foley is Robert Lee, most recently with Diaz, Reus & Targ, who will be partner in the firm's Miami and Orlando offices working in its transactional and securities practice.

Brian O'Donnell has left his post as intellectual property counsel for the Kellogg Company to join Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton in Denver. He comes aboard as counsel on the firm's patent litigation team.

In Hong Kong, Davis Polk & Wardwell has added two new partners. Litigators Martin Rogers and James Wadham move from Clifford Chance, where Rogers was the Asia-Pacific head of litigation and dispute resolution.
