NEW YORK, Dec 18 (Reuters) - Wilson Elser Moskowitz Edelman
& Dicker has announced that the firm will open a Wisconsin
office by acquiring the Milwaukee boutique Leib & Katt.
The office, which will open on Jan. 1, marks Wilson Elser's
24th U.S. outpost and adds to its business litigation practice,
the firm said in a release on Friday.
Leib & Katt, founded in 1997 by Samuel Leib and William
Katt, specializes in litigation, with an emphasis on medical
malpractice and aviation and aerospace-related cases.
The small law firm adds 11 lawyers and 13 support staff to
the nearly 800-lawyer Wilson Elser. Katt has been named the
managing partner of the new office at 740 North Plankinton
Avenue.
Daniel McMahon, the chairman of Wilson Elser, said in a
statement that the Leib & Katt clients will continue to have a
"boutique-style service," except "with the benefits of a
national platform."
Katt and Leib did not immediately respond to requests for
comment.
