Jan 29 (Reuters) - Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe has hireda group of energy attorneys from Bingham McCutchen. Tara Higgins
will co-chair the firm's U.S. energy practice and Torsten
Marshall and Rafael Galvan will join as partners, with all three
based in New York.
Mitchell Raab has left investment fund Seneca Capital to
join Olshan as partner in the firm's corporate practice group in
New York.
Haynes and Boone has a new attorney in its New York office.
Nicholas Hoffman joins the firm as of counsel in its real estate
practice. Most recently Hoffman was a consultant and before that
he served as chief legal officer at Ruben Companies, a real
estate firm.
Day Pitney has added intellectual property attorney Andrew
Riddles as partner in its Stamford, Connecticut, office. He
moves over from Crowell & Moring.
Vinson & Elkins has gotten two tax attorneys from Bingham
McCutchen. Gary Huffman and Joe Garcia join as partners in
Washington.
Patton Boggs has a new partner in its corporate finance
practice group in Washington. Brian Pierce moves over from
Sullivan & Cromwell where he was special counsel.
Former SEC general counsel Daniel Goelzer has rejoined Baker
& McKenzie as partner in Washington, where he will work in the
global corporate, securities and banking compliance practices.
Todd Canni, former director of suspension and disbarment
operations for the U.S. Air Force, has rejoined McKenna Long &
Aldridge in Washington. He will be counsel in its government
contracts practice.
Brian Lynch has left Hogan Lovells to join Drinkler Biddle &
Reath's corporate securities practice in Philadelphia as
partner.
Littler Mendelson has hired Monica Quinn as shareholder. She
moves to the firm's Los Angeles office from Allen Matkins Leck
Gamble Mallory & Natsis.
Entertainment attorney Barbara Rubin has joined Glaser Weil
as partner in Los Angeles. Previously she was a co-founding
partner of entertainment law firm Peter Rubin & Simon.
Duane Morris has hired Kevin Nelson, formerly with Locke
Lord, as an intellectual property partner in Chicago.
In Seattle, Kelly Turner has joined Lane Powell as an
attorney in its labor and employment practice group. She moves
over from Robblee, Detwiler & Black. Lane Powell has also hired
three new intellectual property attorneys. In Portland, Brenna
Legaard joins as shareholder from Chernoff Vilhauer, while
former senior attorney at Nike, Julianne Davis, will be counsel.
In Anchorage, Matthew Block has left Patton Boggs to join Lane
Powell as an attorney.
Barnes & Thornburg has scooped up a team of three attorneys
from Lindquist & Vennum in Minneapolis. Thomas Mielenhausen,
Christopher Yetka and Christopher Lynch join as partners in the
policyholder insurance recovery and counseling group.
