Jan 3 (Reuters) - Joshua Raskin has left Bernstein Litowitz
Berger & Grossman to join Greenberg Traurig. Raskin will be a
shareholder in the intellectual property and technology practice
and focus on patent and trademark litigation.
Edwards Wildman Palmer has hired a new partner in its New
York office. Aileen Meehan comes from Day Pitney and will join
the insurance and reinsurance department.
J. David Dantzler Jr. is the new managing partner of
Troutman Sanders' New York office. A partner with the firm since
2005, he led its securities litigation and critical matters
practices. Dantzler succeeds Aurora Cassirer, who will continue
to serve on the firm's executive committee.
Will Iwaschuk, a former vice president and associate general
counsel for Goldman Sachs, has left to join Morgan Lewis as
partner in New York. Iwaschuk will be with the firm's investment
management and securities industry practice.
In Boston, Foley & Lardner has hired Christopher Donovan as
partner on a number of teams, including the healthcare industry,
business law, life sciences and the senior living industry. He
joins from McDermott Will & Emery, where he was partner in the
corporate and health practice groups for almost 30 years.
Rebecca MacPherson, the Federal Aviation Administration's
assistant chief counsel for International Law, will move to
Jones Day in Washington on Jan. 22 as of counsel in the firm's
airlines and aviation practice.
Duane Morris has opened an office in Palo Alto, California,
run by new managing partner Karineh Khachatourian, an
intellectual property litigator most recently with K&L Gates.
Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi has named V. Robert Denham
Jr. as regional managing partner of the firm's Atlanta, Georgia,
office.
In Houston, Mayer Brown has added Bill Hart Jr., formerly of
Baker Botts, as partner in its banking and finance practice.
Ryan McConnell, a former assistant U.S. attorney, has joined
Morgan Lewis in Houston as partner in its litigation practice.
Roetzel has hired three new white collar and creditors'
rights partners in Florida. In Fort Lauderdale, Jon May comes
from his own firm, May & Cohen, and Andrew Demers moves over
from Fowler White Boggs. In the Fort Myers office is Paul
Giordano, another former Fowler White partner.
Stephen Jagusch has left his post as global chair of Allen &
Overy's international arbitration practice to join Quinn Emanuel
Urquhart & Sullivan as partner in London. Jagusch will also
assume the position of global chair of Quinn Emanuel's
international arbitration practice.
In Paris, Mayer Brown has hired Jeannette Bougrab as partner
in its banking and finance practice. Bougrab was previously
State Secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Community Life
under a former French prime minister, Francois Fillon.
John Yiu has joined Edwards Wildman Palmer as a litigation
partner in Hong Kong. Previously, Yiu was partner with Hong Kong
firm ONC Lawyers.
Novak Druce + Quigg and Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz have
officially merged to form Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg,
effective Jan. 1. The new firm will be based in Houston and will
have offices in Boston, San Francisco, Silicon Valley, Los
Angeles, West Palm Beach, Washington and Wilmington, Delaware.
Also official on Jan. 1 is the merger of K&L Gates with
Australian firm Middletons. The deal was approved unanimously in
early December.
