Jan 15 (Reuters) - Littler Mendelson has hired employment
lawyer John Scalia from rival law firm Greenberg Traurig. Scalia
will become a shareholder in its northern Virginia office,
Littler said.
Scalia will represent government contractor and information
technology companies and will also expand his practice into
national class and collective action litigation.
"His broad experience in the courts within our region and in
Equal Employment Opportunity, wage and hour and unfair
competition litigation will add to our depth in each of those
areas," Thomas Flaherty, managing shareholder of Littler's
northern Virginia office, said in a statement.
Scalia was with Greenberg Traurig for 12 years. Before that,
he practiced for 10 years in San Francisco's Bay Area.
He is the son of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia. His
brother Eugene is an employment lawyer and partner in the
Washington office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher.
