Jan 29 (Reuters) - San Francisco-based law firm Orrick
Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired three energy and project
finance partners from the New York office of Bingham McCutchen,
an Orrick spokeswoman said.
Tara Higgins, the co-chair of Bingham's energy and project
finance practice, joined Orrick as partner on Tuesday, said
spokeswoman Clara Rodriguez.
Higgins will be based in Orrick's New York office and will
co-chair the firm's U.S. energy group, according to Dan Mathews,
co-chair of Orrick's international energy and infrastructure
group.
Higgins specializes in representing lenders and investment
funds in connection with renewable energy projects. She has
handled matters for investment firm GE Energy Financial Services
and lenders JP Morgan Chase and General Electric Commercial
Finance, according to Bingham's website.
Energy and project finance attorneys Torsten Marshal and
Raphael Galvin, who worked with Higgins at Bingham, also joined
Orrick as partners on Tuesday.
Higgins said she joined Orrick because some of her clients
have projects in Africa and Europe and Orrick has more of an
international practice than Bingham.
A Bingham spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a
request for comment.
