Feb 7 (Reuters) - Law firm Greenberg Traurig announced five
leadership changes on Thursday, including the selection of the
firm's first female co-president.
Former executive chair Cesar Alvarez, 65, and former
president Matt Gorson, 65, will become firm co-chairs, while
global operating shareholder Hilarie Bass and global litigation
practice chair Brian Duffy, 47, become co-presidents, a
spokeswoman said.
Greenberg Traurig co-founder Larry Hoffman will become
founding chair, a position similar to chairman emeritus at other
corporations.
As co-presidents, Bass and Duffy will continue their
litigation work as well as be involved in day-to-day management
of the firm.
Bass, who joined the firm in 1981, has held numerous
leadership positions within the 1,750-attorney firm and in
professional groups like the American Bar Association, where she
was most recently chair of the 70,000-member litigation section.
She will remain based in Miami.
Duffy joined Greenberg Traurig in 2001 after graduating from
law school in 1991. He will remain in Denver.
Greenberg Traurig has 35 offices across the United States,
Latin America, Europe and the Middle East. Litigation is its
largest practice with over 600 attorneys. The firm's profits per
partner were $1.415 million in 2011, the most recent year data
was available from American Lawyer.
