Nov 9 (Reuters) - Morrison & Foerster has new leadership in
its New York office, with bankruptcy partner Brett Miller set to
succeed Charles Kerr as managing partner. Miller currently leads
the firm's representation of FBI Director Louis Freeh in his
role as the trustee overseeing the MF Global bankruptcy.
Ballard Spahr has a new attorney in its public finance
department. Holly Horsley, most recently with Gluck Walrath,
will be resident in the firm's New Jersey office, focusing on
municipal transactions and redevelopment projects.
Former senior trial counsel at the Securities and Exchange
Commission, Molly White has joined McGuireWoods as partner in
the firm's government, regulatory and criminal investigations
practice group in Los Angeles.
Life sciences attorney Jeffrey Hessekiel has left his
position as a senior executive at Gilead Sciences for Arnold &
Porter's San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices.
Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton has added Stephen Reiter as
counsel in San Diego. Moving over from Foley & Lardner, he joins
Kilpatrick's intellectual property department and will also be a
member of the health and life sciences team.
In Chicago, Barnes & Thornburg has hired David Ritter as
partner in its labor an employment law department. He was
previously chair of the labor and employment practice at Neal,
Gerber & Eisenberg.
Livia Kiser has left Barack Ferrazzano Kirschbaum &
Nagelberg for Loeb & Loeb in Chicago, where she will be partner
in the consumer protection defense department.
SNR Denton, Fraser Milner Casgrain and Salans have proposed
a merger that would morph the three firms into a new
international firm to be called Dentons. Management will
recommend the merger to their partners on Nov. 13.
